A standing committee is in place as part of the NWLRAG.  This committee is officially referred to as the Scaling Practices Committee (“SPC”).  The SPC consists of representatives from the NWLRAG membership.

The SPC receives and reviews requests for changes to the Log Scaling and Grading Rules books.  The SPC makes recommendations for changes to the NWLRAG.

The SPC sponsors log rollout schools to ensure the uniformity and standardization of rules and the application of rules to be applied in scaling and grading logs.  The results of these scaling schools are distributed to the members.
